Our Kayak named: Pisang

We have the Intex Explorer K2 Kayak now -which we have named; “Pisang”- for a few months. We have done some decent paddling! This because we want to stay fit, very important when living on a boat. Besides, it’s our alternative for having a dinghy (2/3 person boat with oars or an outboard motor).

Our only way on-and-off our boat

Our Intex Explorer K2 Kayak came with two paddles, a pump to inflate and a few patches in case there is a puncture. On the bottom, there is a small keel to stabilize the kayak. The total allowed weight is 180kg. Enough for two persons and some groceries.

The Intex Explorer K2 Kayak comes with a convenient and strong carrier bag so you can easily throw it in the back of your car, carry it via motorcycle or bicycle, in your backpack, or -like us- store it on your boat.

The first time we tested her out we went straight into the wind. Pisang did a great job. If in the kayak alone it was a bit more difficult because there is less counterbalance and she would zigzag more. We both love kayaking. It would be our preferred way of going ashore or exploring rivers. We have used different kayaks but this inflatable one shouldn’t remain in the shadows pure for the fact that it is inflatable.

“We bumped into a barnacle infested concrete jetty/ pontoon and even took our little black cat in it. Not a scratch on it. We absolutely love it!”

Well…don’t just take our word for it. Check it out for yourself
